Giving hope, one little dress at a time

I’m really excited about the current project that I’m working on, which is making dresses for girls living in countries of need in Africa ( as well as pants for boys) to be brought there by the charity Little Dresses for Africa. I’ve been told the dresses I’m working on may go to Somalia. Little Dresses for Africa is a non-profit U.S.- based organization which provides relief to the neglected children of Africa who are in need of clothing. They also send to other countries in crisis when requested. Simple one -of-a- kind dresses and pants are made out of pillowcases ( pillowcases are easy to find and use) by volunteer designers and sewers such as myself, and distributed through the orphanages, churches and schools in Africa. This provides the children with self esteem, hope, and love.

If you are interested in donating pillowcases (or other fabric) so I can make more dresses and pants, please contact me. You can check out their website Here to see other ways you can help, such as donating directly, or making dresses yourself to donate. I’ll be posting pix of the ones I’m making soon, along with more details about all this!
