My Fantasy About Tim Walker

One of my favorite photographers is Tim Walker. I want to be a part of his fantastical world. I had a dream in which I was flying over the ocean with him, being chased by fish in iridescent bubbles glowing by the moonlight. Just kind of a fun adventure one night!

Every time I see an ad or an editorial I really like, it’s usually shot by him. Here are a few of my favs!

Here’s a few that I really like, from Vogue April 2012, featuring Kate Moss.

Fitted for Success

Cinderella Project Boutique Day March 2012

I had the honour of helping out at Boutique Day for the Cinderella Project at the beginning of the month. It was a fabulous experience to be a part of such a inspiring organization. I helped out with fittings in the girls alteration area. There was a team of about 12 volunteers.

It was a very fun group of women, many who were experienced costume designers who work in the movie business here in Vancouver. Very cool ladies with lots of talent and speed! It was quite amazing to see how quickly the girl’s dresses got nipped, tucked, and hemmed.

I had the chance to speak with many grads as we were pinning the dresses. I have to say, each grad looked like a super stylish princess. The Fairy God Mother stylists had helped them to select the perfect dresses for each of them. Most only needed hemming, or a little bit of tweaking to make them a perfect fit. The styles were already really beautiful for them.

One of the main comments I heard was that they couldn’t believe it was actually happening, and they couldn’t believe that they got to keep the dresses, shoes and accessories. Walking into the Boutique was any grad (or fashionista’s) dream come true!

The boutique was set up in multiple joining ballrooms, with tables of rainbow hued shoes, racks and racks of designer dresses as far as you could see, tables of sparkling jewelry and accessories, and that was just the girl’s part of it! There was also a guy’s section with suits, shoes, and accessories, as well as hair and makeup tables set up for the grads to get all dolled up.

Once they were all done, they had their professional grad photos taken there as well, in the photo studio. The set up this year had a Japanese garden theme, with cherry blossoms. Very beautiful!

180 grads got their grad looks through the Cinderella Project this year.

What is the Cinderella Project?
A charity which recognizes young men and women who show perseverance in overcoming hardship to graduate, by giving them suits and gowns they need to attend their prom.

Happy Spring from Little Pink Dress

It may have just snowed yesterday here in Kerridale, and my eyes froze in the chilly wind at Kits beach last weekend, but there are flowers blooming in the gardens and birds chirping in the trees as a joyful reminder that spring is finally here!

The shirtless, toque wearing guys playing volleyball at the beach also made me a little more optimistic! I have officially put away the winter clothes.

Have a spectacular day!

Love and peace,

Sweet Treat

Laduree limited edition cherry macarrons

A collaboration of three of my favs- macarons, cherries, and Tsumori Chisato. Parisian bakery Laduree has released a limited edition macaron for March, which has taken inspiration from Japanese cherry blossoms. The macaron is pink, with a light cherry ganache. The box for them was designed by Paris based, Japanese designer Tsumori Chisato. So kawaii!

Seeing as cherry blossoms are blooming all over Kerrisdale here in Vancouver, I’m also inspired! At your consultation and fittings for custom dresses at the Little Pink Dress Atelier this spring, you can also enjoy pink mararons from Parisian bakery Faubourg, which is in the neighbourhood.

Looking forward to tea and treats with you!

Bisou bisou dahling!
