Love Birds

“Love Birds” is always a fun theme for weddings, and birds are a trend we’re seeing right now,  in home decor, fashion and bridal.  I personally love whimsical, feathery skirts on dresses! We’ll see more of this trend in bridal in 2013, at least for a more natural wedding.

Here’s a birdcage veil I made a little while back, sparkling with lovebirds.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Love and peace,

The beautiful photos are taken by my sister Sarah Vassallo, in New south Wales,  Australia.

The Little Pink Dress Atelier

The Little Pink Dress studio is located in ultra charming Kerrisdale, on the west side of Vancouver.  What I love about this area is that it’s peaceful, and feels like a small town even thought it’s in the city. You can walk out and find pretty much everything that you could want, and see people you know. If you’re coming in for a fitting, I recommend having a look around the shops, and perhaps enjoying some food along the way. There’s always something new to try!

Here’s a look at some random pictures of the LPD studio.

Dreaming in Tulle

I love what I do! I am so fortunate and happy to be able to live out my dream job.  I had so much fun working with the gorgeous Angie for her wedding. I did dress modifications, as well as creating two beautiful veils for her ( one for the ceremony, and a glam birdcage one for dancing! ) and a very chic and sweet dress for her flower girl, Kiara.  Hope to see pix of them soon! Angie’s fab  sister Lisa and her divine mom Judy joined the celebrations.  Congrats to Angela and Mitch! Much love to you!

Glowing bride Angela, and me!

Where Fittings are Fun!

I totally understand that getting a custom dress made can sometimes make one feel unsure, uncomfortable, or intimidated perhaps. That’s why at the Little Pink Dress Atelier it’s more exciting and relaxing to get a custom dress and/or headpiece made than going elsewhere!  You can bring your friends and family, and enjoy tea or delicious sparkling drinks with treats, as you have your consultation and fittings. It’s all done in a private, stylish environment, so you can just unwind,  and enjoy this magical time in your life. Clients find the process very creative and fun.  You can be as involved as you’d like to!  This means that together with my experience, your ideas can blossom into the perfect dress for you.

These are some pictures my sister Sarah took of some treats and sweets enjoyed at the Little Pink Dress Atelier.

Hope to celebrate with you soon…

Sparkling kisses and twinkling wishes,

Poolside Pretty

This summer my sister Sarah and I collaborated on a fun fashion photo shoot.  Sarah lives in Australia, and I don’t get to see her very often. This made it even more special!  We did it at my 60’s style place in Kerrisdale, Vancouver. We were mostly poolside, but also shoot in the suite, as well as the very retro lobby (which I just love!) It was a  very hot summer day in August.  Oh how I miss the heat already! We had a lot of fun, enjoying mimosas to keep cool!

The dresses are one of a kind pieces made by myself.  The gorgeous models are Jen Houston Farley and Ayana Springer.  The beautiful makeup was done by Jasmine Hoffman and  Sara Muchansky did the glam hairstyles.

This is a preview of the shoot- more to come soon!

Glittering Fall wishes from Little Pink Dress!

It’s that time of year again- summer weddings are done and it’s onto the next!  I’m kind of sad, as I love this season!  It was a busy summer with fittings for weddings and party dresses, sewing up a storm, parties with friends and family, pool and beachin’, as well as a fun photo shoot!  I’ll post a few pix from that shortly. Right now I’m working on dresses for the holidays, grad 2013, and spring 2013 weddings. Give me a shout if you’d like a custom dress made for your fabulous upcoming events!

Here’s a picture my sister Sarah took of my new tea light holders for the studio. Love!

Here’s to a fabulous fall 2012!

Much sparkle and magic,
