My Favorite Kind Of Shopping!

Fabric shopping!!  I went out with Angela to Fabricanna to check out some ideas for her custom dresses. We didn’t end up finding the right fabric for her there, but it’s always very inspiring!

Red-y for the Holidays!

It was so lovely to go over the designs and fabric ideas for Jasmine’s holiday dresses! I had done quite a a few of them,  but the best ones were the really foxy, super red hot looks.  Gorgeous!!

The always stunning Jasmine, looking at the designs and fabrics.  Love the red lipstick! Would be perfect with the designs.

I can’t wait to get started on them!

Wishing you a fabulous day,

Hannah

Sketching time!

It love the process of making a dress, especially the initial sketches and fabric sourcing.  I’ve been doing a lot of designs this month for clients, many for next year’s celebrations. I like to do the illustrations with pen and markers as it’s easy and fast, but occasionally I work with water colours as well.

After the design and fabrics are selected, I will start the pattern for the dress. I’m working on lots of patterns at the moment! I find pattern drafting very creative as well.

I will then cut out a mock up which gets fitted. Changes can be made at this point. Then the dress is cut in the actual fabric, and basted together for another fitting. Once it’s good to go, the dress is sewn, and ready for the final fitting! So exciting!

Here’s a few illustrations of ideas for a fabulous client. We are going with another design though, which I can’t wait to start making. It’s gorgeous! It’s for a wedding next spring.

Here’s to a very creative and stylish day!

Love and peace,

Hannah
