The custom design couture service is for the women or girl who wants to wear a dress that is designed and constructed exclusively for her, and wants to be involved with the creation while enjoying the process.
It’s fun and easy to get a dress made at the Little Pink Dress atelier. You can relax and enjoy cupcakes with champagne or tea, while you have your consultation and fittings.
Hannah’s custom dresses vary from style to style as they are exclusively made for each girl, but what they have in common is exquisite craftsmanship and the ability to make the wearer always feel like the life of the party.
Fabric and trims
Custom dresses and head pieces can be made even more one of a kind with handmade details such as beading and embroidery, as well as fabric dying, silk painting, and silk screening. Vintage fabrics and trims, as well as existing heirloom pieces can be incorporated.
The production philosophy is based on ethical manufacturing and green choices. Every dress is made in Vancouver, Canada. Eco friendly fabrics such as silk and hemp/ silk, and organic cotton, linen and bamboo are used as much as possible.
The design process
For a custom dress we start with an initial consultation, where we get to know what you are looking for. We discuss likes and dislikes, venue, and budget. The goal is to create a dress that will compliment your individual style, personality, body type and budget. From there sketches are created and fabrics and trims are sourced. A design package is then presented, where the final design will be selected. From there a toile is created and fitted, and then the dress is made in the actual fabric.
How long will it take?
This depends on the complexity of the design, as well as fabric selection. On average, for a wedding dress you will be required to come in for 2-3 fittings and for a party dress you will be required to come in for 1-3 fittings. Please allow 1-3 months to have a dress made. Rush orders are sometimes possible.
How much is it?
The cost depends on what you are having made, the complexity of the design, as well as fabric and embellishment choice. Prices are based on time involved plus materials. For more information on pricing or to book a consultation please contact Hannah.
